Facebook, the world’s most popular social network, has unveiled a new virtual interaction platform that it hopes will drive more innovation in the social network’s business.
The new platform, called Interact, allows people to create and share interactive content that is “invisible to the user,” said Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg in a video posted on the company’s website Wednesday.
Sandberg said the platform will work with businesses to help them innovate and expand their reach across the internet.
Facebook will also work with content providers and advertisers to bring interactive content to users, she said.
Sandberg said it is an example of the company using its existing tools to help other companies with their growth and success.
Facebook already has several interactive platforms, including Facebook Messenger, a chat service that lets users connect with friends and others through a series of messages.
